A Silk Organza Shakespearean Shirt of Dreams 🪶

Description

Flamboyant, opulent, androgynous and HUGE on drama, my Skye Shirt is a luxurious silk organza shirt with a chapel-length train.

Named for my wonderful customer Skyelar Shea for whom I designed the original in 2022, it’s now available for bespoke order.

Versatile to being styled soooo many ways, its split front is inspired by traditional frock coats while the sheer organza, statement sleeves and pleated cape-style back add the dramatic modern flavour. It comes with a button-up front and cuffs, a carry handle on the train to loop around your wrist, a bustle hook to pin the train up for dancing and personalised embroidery.

The price includes all domestic/international shipping.

I make each one to order so please let me know if you would prefer a different colour or details such as the buttons, etc. Please note that changes to the design may affect the total price.

Personalised details

Leave a note at checkout if you’d like to include embroidery on the cuff and carry handle like Skye did (they had their wedding date on the carry handle and a personal ‘Trouble’ in metallic gold on the cuff).

When to order

You can place your order as early as you like to secure the time in my diary to make it for you. I typically start the making process around four months before your wedding (or date you plan to wear it) so we get body measurements that are as accurate as possible for the day. However, you know your body best and how it can fluctuate in shape and size, so let me know if you’d prefer me to start sooner.

Measuring and Making

While I prefer to take measurements myself for super-fitted bespoke garments such as corsets, the Skye Shirt is a sufficiently loose fit that we can take your body measurements remotely if you don’t happen to live within a reasonable travelling distance to Farnborough, Hants, UK!

Once you’ve placed your order, l’ll be in touch to arrange a videocall where I can talk you through the measurements I need and how to take them. It’s helpful to have someone with you for the harder to reach ones as there are several on your back and down to the floor that it’s tricky to do by yourself.

I will then make a toile (mock-up in muslin fabric) and ship it to you to try on and make any adjustments before making the final shirt.
