It’s finally got me; I have Covid-19.
Contingency plans are in place (you don’t work in weddings without them!) and all the brides I was due to see in person this week have been contacted directly to make alternative arrangements. Some opted to see my wonderful friend and occasional colleague Siân Avery, others are happy to wait until next week, while my favourite response was: “Oh, I’ve had it this week too! I’ll come for my fitting anyway!” And she did.
I’m fully vaccinated and only feel like I have a cold, but I’ll happily accept the breakfasts in bed offered by my family. Both children had it last week but my husband continues to test negative and seems to believe he has thwarted it with his suave good looks alone (and maybe three vaccines).
I’m still working as usual behind the scenes, altering the dresses I have in, embroidering veils as orders come in online and working on all the made-to-measure pieces. I will also wait a few days before anything I’ve touched gets sent, just to be on the safe side.
In the meantime, I will continue to wash my hands like a surgeon, clean everything regularly and spritz what can’t be cleaned in Dettol.
The site shop is always open of course, as is the Etsy store.
We can still consult by videocall, email, social media and phone and can accept payments remotely via bank transfer and PayPal, plus through the shop.
Please get in touch if you have any questions, and stay safe.
